At Edgar Sewter Playschool, we pride ourselves on our warm, welcoming, and homely atmosphere. As a small setting, we can provide personalised care and attention to every child. We adhere to the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework, which integrates various guidelines and practices into a cohesive approach for the care and education of children from birth to four years old.
Our educational programs are shaped by seven key areas of learning and development. The three prime areas are:
- Communication and Language
- Physical Development
- Personal, Social, and Emotional Development
These are supported and enriched by the four specific areas:
- Literacy
- Mathematics
- Understanding the World
- Expressive Arts and Design
We aim to tailor activities to your child’s interests and welcome any information you can provide about their preferences and progress.
We use the online Tapestry system to record and share your child’s achievements. Parents can access their child’s account to view updates, add photos, and share comments.
Our friendly, experienced, and dedicated staff are adept at meeting the diverse educational needs of all children. They maintain up-to-date mandatory training in Paediatric and Emergency First Aid and Safeguarding, along with various additional professional courses to ensure our practices remain current and effective.
We are always available to discuss your child’s progress and address any questions or concerns you might have. Feel free to talk to us during drop-off or pick-up times, or arrange a private discussion if you prefer.
